KeenLogic is seeking a Senior Scientist (Tank Management) to support our team with one of our government clients. This position supports Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities.
The role supports compliance with environmental regulations related to petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL), including aboveground and underground storage tanks. Responsibilities include supporting fueling operations, spill prevention planning, pollution control, regulatory coordination, and compliance auditing.

Required Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering OR Master’s degree in science or engineering
10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s OR 8+ years with a master’s
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with POL regulations and tank management requirements
Support spill prevention and contingency planning
Coordinate with regulators and operations staff
Prepare reports, databases, and regulatory documentation
Conduct internal compliance audits and assessments
Required Work Experience
Aboveground and underground storage tank compliance
Fueling and fuel transfer operations
Development of spill plans, tank management plans, and conducting contingency planning
Meeting with regulators and operations
Preparing reports, tracking data, and all associated regulatory documentation
Performing internal compliance assessments and auditing
Preferred Experience
Fuel storage tank design reviews
Oversight of tank removals and installations
