Overview:  

KeenLogic is seeking a SME Engineer (Compliance) to support our team with one of our government clients. This position supports Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. 

The role focuses on providing subject matter expertise in environmental compliance across DoD facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include developing strategies and action plans to maintain compliance, collaborating with regulators, operations staff, and leadership, and supporting programs such as air, wastewater, and stormwater permitting, hazardous waste management, and NEPA implementation. The position also involves serving as a senior reviewer for technical deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and databases, to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Active Secret clearance 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 15 years of relevant work experience 

  • Master’s degree in engineering and 13 years of relevant work experience 

  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license 

Required Work Experience: 

  • Meets with regulators, operations staff and WHS leadership 

  • Provides strategies and action plans to assist in keeping WHS compliant with all environmental mandates 

  • Senior reviewer for all draft deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and databases 

  • Air Permitting and implementation 

  • Wastewater permitting and implementation 

  • Stormwater permitting and implementation 

  • Hazardous waste and chemical inventory compliance 

  • Storage tank compliance 

  • Soil and groundwater investigation and compliance 

  • NEPA program implementation  

Preferred Experience: 

  • ODS inventory and compliance 

  • Multimedia assessments 

  • Cultural historic resources program implementation 

  • Natural resource program implementation
