Junior Installation Technician
KeenLogic is seeking to hire a Junior Installation Technician supporting the United States Senate on a multi-year Information Technology Support program, providing essential IT services to ensure continuity of operations across Senate offices. This contract spans six years, offering long-term stability and growth.
Junior Installation Technicians provide on-site field support for Senate offices, including hardware installations, moves, replacements, and emergency repairs. This role requires strong technical skills and direct customer interaction.
Work will be performed on-site at Senate facilities in Washington, DC, and other approved Senate locations as required. This is a full-time position offering Fortune 500-level health/dental/vision, PTO, 401k, and Life Insurance.
Qualifications
Must be able to pass a Senate background check and must be eligible for Senate Office building access
2+ years of IT field support experience
Strong customer service skills.
One of the following certifications: ITIL, Security+, HP, Apple, Microsoft
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides on-site technical support at Senate state and field offices, including hardware installations, returns to stock (RTS), equipment replacements, and emergency repair services
Interfaces directly with Senators, staff, and authorized users, delivering professional, customer-focused support in a high-visibility environment
Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and approved software at Senate locations in accordance with established standards
Assembles, installs, and configures systems and equipment based on site assessments, floor plans, schematics, and technical documentation
Performs equipment upgrades, relocations, and removals, ensuring coordination with engineering changes and approved configurations
Provides instruction to users on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting as appropriate
Performs preventative maintenance and diagnostics to identify and resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime
Troubleshoots hardware and connectivity issues efficiently to restore service within established timeframes
Ensures accurate asset tagging, documentation, and inventory updates in accordance with Senate procedures
Coordinates with Help Desk, logistics, and technical teams to support deployments, office moves, and surge requirements
Adheres to security, safety, and compliance requirements while working on-site at Senate facilities
Maintains awareness of scheduled deployments, hardware refresh cycles, and emergency response procedures
Documents installation activities, configurations, and resolutions in the designated tracking systems
